CEREMONY

The book "CEREMONY" is written by Leslie Marmon Silko. Silko is a Native American women and she write about Native American traditions and cultures in her book. I like this book because I always read books which were written by White people in my classes so the book was new to me. I think it is very important to know voices of people who have been spoiled or looked down by the society or other people.

That is ridiculous and disappointing ! They were absorbed in working on a complicated crew scheduling and forgot their jobs.

Scientists discover Earth-like, water-rich planet:study

Astronomers have discovered a new Earth-like planet that is larger than the Earth and may be more than half covered with water, according to a study published Wednesday in the science journal Nature.
It is called "super Earth"and about 42 light years away. It is sounds exciting isn't it? Someday in near future , our technology will find another non-human intelligences.

THE CHRISTMAS CAROL

Today is the Christmas Day! My favorite Christmas story is "THE CHRISTMAS CAROL". It is written by the famous writer Dickens. The old misery Scrooge hate the Christmas. Only thing he loves is money. On the day of Christmas Eve, he meet with three ghosts and the experience changed him. He realized that he was being selfish and rude to the others. He changed his heart and became kind to everybody. Nobody can live by themselves. I think that the story is the one of the greatest works of Dickens.

THE LION KING

I think everybody know the famous Disney movie "THE LION KING". The main character is a young prince lion Simba the son of Mufasa. Mufasa's brother, Scar wan to get Mufasa's throne so he killed the king. Without the king Mufasa, Simba ended up in desert and he meet unique friends Timon and Pumbaa. Finally Simba went back to the kingdom and beaten Scar became the king . The young little lion gets strength through his journey. I want to go to see South Africa to see wild animals someday!

Super-Frog Saves Tokyo

I read a short story written by Haruki Murakami translated in English by Jay Rubin. The story is about a men name Mr.Katagiri who works at a bunk in Tokyo. One day he meat a giant frog (about 2 meters tall) . The frog said that it is going to fight with giant worm which lives in underground so that it want Mr. Katagiri to help it and story continues...
The story was interesting and made me think. I think that books or stories which make people think are called ''Good one".

Researchers found that old adults who started browsing the Web experienced improved brain function after only a few days. According to the article, Web searching activate particularly in the areas of brain that make decision. I think it is useful somehow but old people need to be very careful with using Internet.

Nwe school uniforms in USA

I think that school uniforms are good because they allow children to focus on their works. Some people insist that uniforms will kill their personality. However I believe the time school children were uniforms are limited and they will not influence their personality. The most important thing for them is to focus on school.

PC keyboards dirtier than toilet seats

When I read the article, I was shocked. I have never cleaned my computer keyboards which means my PC keyboards are five times dirtier than a toilet seat! I am going to clean the keyboards right now.

Violence in Japan's elementary school

Recently violences in Japanese elementary school are increasing.I think that's because they are influenced a lot by violence TV shows and by playing video games. A lot of children spend their time playing video games all day instead of playing outside with their friends where children can learn how to build good relationships with others.

Genetically modified foods

I do not trust Chinese products because of the all bad news about them. When I go to stores I always check labels and ingredients and I buy domestic products even if they are expensive than Chinese products. I know that I eat Chinese products in restaurants though..

Workers in microchip implant trial

I think that implanting microchips in people's body is somehow useful. Especially natural disasters occur so that you can tell where they are. But I do not agree with the idea of using microchips using in companies which means managers can check how their staffs working hard. That's sucks isn't it?

Tests

I have never liked tests. I hate them. Because I feel like teachers are trying to put me under a lot of pressure just for evaluating students.But I guess making students take tests is the easiest way to evaluate them. How sad....

Have you ever read a story ''The Little Mermaid''? The story is one of my favorite stories in Disney's story collections. I like the plot an characters also. I have read it over and over again. I would reccomend you to read it least once.

THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW

Have you ever read a novel called THE CHRONICLES of NARNIA written by C.S. LEWIS? I bought this book when I was in Springfield Ohio. The secret passage to the house next door leads to a NARNIA. It is easy to read and interesting to read. I like the pictures too.

write or Wrong:The Death of Handwriting?

I think that teaching children how to write by their hands is very important. Because it is a first step for children to start studying or learning. However Some people says that handwriting is not important anymore because of computers and voice recognition programs. I think people are depend on computers a lot . We had learned the way copying letters over and over again. Some people might think it is waste of time, but I think it is a first process of education . We activate our brains by using our hands busily and then moving to the next step. Learning handwriting is necessary for children.

Royal blood disorder identified

Recently DNA analysis has found out that blood disorder afflicted the British Royal Family in 19 th and early 20th centuries. According to the article, they examined DNA samples of Queen Victoria's great grandson Crown Prince Alexei and other descendants and revealed that they were suffered from blood clotting disorder haemophilia B. Is that mean once they start bleeding it will continue endlessly? wow... Every time I read such articles I really appreciate that I am healthy. I can't imagine how hard the life would be if I had some kind of diseases. There are many brave people who have been fighting with sicknesses and I have respect for those people very much.

College cutbacks maike it harder to earn degrees

I have read the article about the college cutbacks in US( Especially in California) Because of the cutbacks, many colleges are forced to eliminate the classes and to lay off part-time instructors so that many students can't get into classes which they need to earn their degree.How awful is that! Many Students can't graduate colleges on time and they are struggling financially. I understand that it is a hard time for everybody but societies need productive and talented human resources to make our future bright and colleges and universities are the place to foster these young people. College cutbacks will abort chances of the young.
